Why Katowice?

During the year of our stay in Katowice, we’ve been asked this question at least three times per week. We tried to be original in our answers, from a deep connection with the snow and cold winters to the inexplicable liking of the black-pitched colour of coal.

 

Joking apart: why NOT Silesia? Why NOT Katowice?

 

All the Poles we’ve met look always surprised when we say that this region and this city have a lot to offer, even for tourists. Silesia has a rich history and even richer traditions, and we were all amazed discovering it: from the coal mines to the forests and its unique language, Silesia offers a variety of amusements and activities to do. You can go kayaking under a closed coal mine, eat fantastic food in a warm house in the middle of the mountains and find amazing friends to share these experiences with!
