
The Guido Coal Mine Museum was set up in 1855. The maximum production was in 1885 when 312.976 tonnes of coal were cut. When the coal was worked out it continued to draw water from adhacent mines. This function declined in the 1930s and the mine closed in 1960.
These days you can visit Guido Coal Mine as a museum you can go underground till 320m and you can work as a real miners, you can eat like them and you can feel the real darkness.

Zabrze also has a football team which is Górnik Zabrze and they play in the 1st league of Poland if you like football you can go to stadium to see a game from Poland Ekstraklasa League.

The museum established in 1981 in the only such institution in Poland with and extensive collection related to the history of mining, mining technology and culture, located in the building of the former local administractive unit dated back to 1875. A unique, Neo- Gothic "Stained glass window room" multimedia exhibitions, rich educational offer, interesting collections of musicial instruments and images of St. Barbara- these are merely selected offers from among many other attraction. A department of the Mueseum is the "Queen Louise" Historical Coal Mine.
